On September 24, hundreds of colleagues, family members, friends and neighbors came together at One uCity Square to celebrate the opening of the inaugural Philadelphia Artist + Researcher Exhibition (ARx).

The opening marked the culmination of a 10-month journey for nine artists and nine scientific researchers paired to explore complex scientific ideas through art. Throughout the process, teams stepped into one another’s worlds, visiting laboratories and studios, exchanging ideas, experimenting with materials, and challenging each other to approach their work from a different perspective.

At the opening, guests had the opportunity to meet the teams, hear about their collaborative experiences, and explore the resulting works. The exhibition brought together an extraordinary range of media and scientific subjects, from sculpture, glass, and mixed media, to interactive and performance art. Learn more about the artists, researchers, and their works at ucitysquare.com/arx.
